The Colt 45's AIDS TroubleFund

The AIDS TroubleFund provides emergency and temporary financial assistance to persons on disability with AIDS who are financially unable to meet their basic obligations for the necessities of life. Through payments made directly to the service provider, grants are made to help with rent and utilities. Our confidential client list is never shared by anyone outside of the AIDS TroubleFund Committee and our volunteer Community Advisory Board. These two committees work cooperatively and simultaneously twice a month on the first and last Tuesday to distribute our service grants to people living with AIDS, 12 months a year.

The AIDS TroubleFund is the "charity of last resort" that PWA's in Houston have come to rely upon when those agencies that receive governmental funds have run out of money. ATF is not assisted living. It is a fund to help PWA's in a time of need, and to get back on their feet. Due to the dramatic reduction of AIDS deaths, we maintain the fund to help PWA with quality of life issues.

The AIDS TroubleFund addresses the obvious needs of those people living on disability with AIDS on a very limited amount of money, but with living expenses that clearly exceed their restricted budgets. By making payments directly to the service provider, we can ensure direct client assistance.

The Colt 45's Thacker Charities

In loving memory of a cherished Colt 45's member and respected Houston community leader, we support worthy charities and organizations that are not specifically delegated by our other Funds. Grant recipients from this Fund are generally AIDS and HIV-related organizations, but we also support other worthy community efforts.

Within this fund we are able to house restricted funds, with which we help with, burial assistance, food pantry funds, hurricane relief, and other short term grants to individuals and other charities as needed.
