on the Bayou 29. Houston's LARGEST annual
outdoor cocktail party. Lots of fun and great looking people all
having fun and benefitting good causes. Thank you Bunnies

A Little About
Us...
Founded in the spring of 1976 as a
Western charitable organization, The Colt 45's basic goal was to
serve the Houston community as a charity while still having
a good time. In the recent past, community needs have changed.
The Colt 45's have kept pace with these changes, especially in
the area of AIDS and HIV. As a 501(c)(3) charity, we strive
to serve the Houston HIV/AIDS community by the best means
possible.

The Colt 45's provide valuable charitable work with absolutely no
administrative costs attached. Each and every dollar donated
to the various Charitable Funds goes directly to help people
who need it most. The Colt 45's themselves bear the cost of
any administration so that this goal of 100% charity can be
maintained unequivocally.
We are an all-volunteer charity. Therefore, there are no
paid employees, nor do we retain the services of outside
consultants. Membership in the Colt 45's is open to anyone
with a big heart, regardless of any "label" you
might like to apply (such as age, sex, race, HIV status,
income, sexual orientation, etc.) Our current membership
roster includes active members, from all walks of life.
Our Office and Meeting space is graciously donated by our
home bar...

Moneys for all of The Colt 45's Charitable Funds are
obtained through voluntary contributions from corporations,
private individuals, organizations and/or local fund-raising
activities. We receive no governmental assistance of any
kind. We are proud to say that in the history of our
organization, through our charitable arms, The Colt 45's have distributed
well over $1,300,000 to help People With AIDS directly, with no administrative costs.

Membership
There are
four forms of membership in the
Colt 45's. The membership descriptions are briefly stated below;
Full Membership
Consist of our officers and our band of hard-working and dedicated
volunteers. Full members can vote upon any issue before the organization.
Associate Membership
Associate Members are those people who have
support The Colt 45's, our causes and endeavors, but are unable to join as
a Full Member for various reasons.
Lifetime Membership
Those members who have
served as Full Members of The Colt 45's and has been given recognition by
the membership as time they have available has diminished or they are
unable to serve full time due to moving or other situtaions. Many Lifetime
Members continue to volunteer and serve in other capacities even after
given this honor.
Honorary Membership
Those people who have volunteered selflessly for The Colt 45's and
given special recognition. Generally they have not been members in The Colt 45's before
this honor is bestowed, but not always. Most continue to volunteer
year after year, with no remuneration or benefit for themselves.
